Updated over 2 weeks ago

If a contact tells you that your number appears as "Spam Likely" or "Scam Likely," it means their mobile carrier has flagged your number as potential spam. Each carrier has its own internal system for identifying spam calls, and these methods are not publicly shared. Because of this, some recipients may see the warning while others do not.

Why Does This Happen?

Mobile users can manually report numbers as spam, and carriers use algorithms to flag numbers that are frequently ignored, blocked, or reported. To minimize the risk of being flagged, ensure your calls provide value and maintain professional, high-quality conversations.

How to Request Removal from Spam Lists

If your number has been flagged despite following best practices, you can submit a request to the carriers to have the spam designation removed. Each carrier has a separate process, and once you complete their form, you should receive a response within a few days.

Estimated Response Times:

  • AT&T (via Hiya): 24 hours

  • Verizon (via TNS): 24 hours

  • T-Mobile, Sprint, Cell1 (via First Orion): 30 days

Once the carrier updates its records, the "Spam Likely" warning should no longer appear when you call their customers. However, numbers can be flagged again if they receive new reports, so it’s important to maintain good calling habits.
